Competition and Faith: Who Am I Running the Race Against?

St. Paul advises us all to "Run so as to win." Interestingly, though, he does this right after talking about how he strives to be all things to all people, even that he "became weak, to win over the weak." It is clear that St. Paul, when he talks about running so to win, he isn't viewing those he shares the word with as competition.

There is an enemy, and he is real, and he is a threat. Not to God, no, but to us. God allows us to choose Him, and to choose freely. Evil desires us to misuse that freedom and reject Him.

De-Inventing the Wheel

One of the things that has always seemed pretty self-evident to me is that it is way easier to identify problems in a current situation than it is to develop a good solution.
