Sorry, No Halloween Story This Year…Well, Sorta

I've decided to share what I have written so far. It isn't much, maybe 2/3 of the first act. It is shaping up to be a little longer than the last one, but I want to really dig into the world and the characters a bit more. I love the dynamic between Deuce and Genviève. I want to do this story justice and I think I will as soon as I can get the time to really focus on it. Any who, here's 2800 words or so. The formatting doesn't translate to a blog very well, so I apologize for the spacing. I hope you enjoy it.

Content…But I’m Not Happy About It

I usually come up with stories on the long drive and the ocean has historically fed my creativity. I was excited for this trip. I wanted to get back on the horse. I was somewhere in the middle of nowhere Arizona when it hit me.... I'm content. That made me so angry.

Keep Shooting Until You Remember How

I think we have all had those moments where we know that if we just started, we would enjoy it. Overcoming that initial hurtle though, is a major source of frustration. This is where my analogy comes in. I compared it to basketball.

Is It Ready? Am I Ready? : A Writer’s Dilemma

Working with an idea that has so much of me invested in it is strangely difficult. I have kept it swirling inside my brain for so long that I think I might be afraid to be without it. Once I write it and put it on paper, it won't be in my brain anymore. There is a fear that I won't do it justice, so I should just hold onto it like Gollum did his "precious."

Halloween Story III: The Great Treasure

This is the first 2 (of 15) pages of the next story in my "Tall Tales For Little Girls" series. I am a father of two girls and am writing stories to express the virtues that dads would want to instill in their daughters (or kids in general). Virtues like loyalty, sacrifice, courage, and that special kind of protection that father's provide.

Second Annual Halloween Story

This is a story that I post at Halloween time, not necessarily a "Halloween story." There are no ghosts and goblins in this story (but there are politicians, which are WAY scarier). I have been working on this story for a while now and finally decided to put it to paper.
