Meaningful Conversation and Meaningful Correction

I can tend to avoid meaningful correction. I recognize their importance, both in theory and in practice, but it isn't something I enjoy in general. This week at school, I got some very direct experience both in the giving and receiving of correction, and it really highlighted how meaningful it can be.

I Asked God To Make It Easy…He Said No

We have all asked God to make it easy. We have all asked God to take pain away from us. We have all heard the challenge to our faith, "how does God let bad things happen to good people." For those of us who struggle with the unanswered prayers, we have only to look to the Bible.

Flip Your Fear

I realized that once I looked beyond myself, I found a butt ton of fear. I was self-centered, not because I thought I was great, but because I was in control. I can control me. I can't control anything else. As soon as I moved past what I could control, I was afraid.

The Strings Attached To The Love Of God

When we talk about the love of God, we commonly say that His love is unconditional, that there are no strings attached. Like most of our sayings, it certainly contains some truth, but is also ripe for a dangerous misunderstanding if we take it too literally.
