Life Changes From Zero to One Hundred, Real Quick

Progress is rarely linear. I see it in my own life where I spent three years discerning priesthood and then tried to drop back into my "normal" life from before I went to seminary. With a long enough view, you can see the trend upwards, but in the moment, it seems like a series of quick starts and sudden stops.

What Is So Good About Good Friday Anyway?

There are a lot of great things about teaching a high school theology class, but one of my favorites is being able to hijack lessons with whatever I feel like talking about on a given day. During our last classes of Holy Week, since we don't have class on Good Friday, I decided we needed to take an hour and a half to reflect on what exactly we mean by calling Good Friday good.

I usually come up with stories on the long drive and the ocean has historically fed my creativity. I was excited for this trip. I wanted to get back on the horse. I was somewhere in the middle of nowhere Arizona when it hit me.... I'm content. That made me so angry.
