Meaningful Conversations With Delicious Beverages
As human beings, we like our successes to be clear, identifiable, and well defined. The truth is that we have no idea what the rest of the puzzle was supposed to be, so we have no real idea what our part is needed for.
When parents and teachers are talking about how they can help a child succeed, the discussion has to be different each time to account for the child, but the one thing that is universal when talking about success, it's going to be resilience.
Then I sat back and thought about how I wanted my kid to operate. If this is what I'm teaching, then that is what I believe is the best way to operate. If I believe that is the best way to operate, then I need to operate that way. Right then, I recommitted
Failing is just a circumstance. It's a real part of our lives, but it's an experience, and an experience's value really depends on the person who experiences it.
That, I have come to accept, is the true meaning of failure. Giving up. Giving up is self-centered. It's fearful. It's having a vision of something great and throwing it the garbage because you are unwilling to do what is right, what is good.
How does fear keep me from being successful? Well, I fear what I view as a success, others will not and pass judgment. I think we can all immediately agree that anything we do out of an obligation to please others is not success.
