Wrapping up their conversations about Critical Race Theory, this week AJ and Brandon talk about the application of CRT in the K-12 classrooms. How should the system change? How should teachers adapt? As always, let us know where we missed the boat or where we nailed it!
Episode 103 – BarbaDeux? InkleTus?
On a special Holy Thursday episode, AJ and Brandon are joined by Gustavo, Ivan, and Walther from the Barbatus Catholic Podcast to discuss the Triduum celebrations and how pass the faith on to the next generation. Make sure to check them out on social media and on their own pod!
The Importance of Living By Example
I am by no means the best example, but I'm what God gave my kids. It is my responsibility to do the best I can. I can't do that by sending them in the house every time they get whiney or fight of the same shovel that we have four of. I need to include them in as much as possible so they can be impacted by the model we are trying to live for them.
Dignity In Discipline
Kids will do things that make us furious. We all have that kid in which we are so much alike that they push our buttons like they're playing Beethoven's 5th. Some of this is behavior that needs correction.
Faithfulness In the Mundane
One key take away for me from that conversation was that faith is developed in retrospect and in the small quite times.
I Think I Might Be Psychopath
"I think I might be a psychopath," I say nonchalantly. My friend stops mid-bite and replaces his spoon. This statement was obviously deemed concerning enough for him to not have a mouth full of Blizzard in the off chance he had to run away screaming.
What is friendship?
Friendship is chosen. We share experiences with someone and it makes us feel good.
