Meaningful Conversations With Delicious Beverages
In light of the recent tragedies in El Paso and Dayton, AJ and Brandon practice disagreeing respectfully(most of the time) about gun control standards. It's not like we have the answers, but we did a pretty good job of asking the questions.
What you are not about to read here are a list of solutions to solve or bridge these divisions, nor will you find me saying anything about the divisions being false or insincere. What you are about to read, however, is my equally real, sincere, and important concern about the nature of division in our national conversations.
This week, we broaden out the conversation a bit as we talk about the relationship between our faith and politics as a whole, trying to figure out how we should and shouldn't let our faith influence our votes.
We're talking some serious trash today (I'm not apologize for that pun). For our topic we discuss how California has mandated organics recycling.
We know this is a topic that is very heated. It seems people only have strong feelings about the President, so we tame the conversation a bit by focusing on some of the precedents he is setting. Two in particular. We discuss what it means for someone who is not a career politician to become president, as well as the use of declaring a State of Emergency for the border wall.
This isn't "political" like picking between CNN and Fox News. We discuss politics in general and some of the outcomes. AJ discusses voting from a religious disposition. Brandon shares his sense of fatalism and his fear that Arizona will become California.
