Today is the official release of our website. To be honest, I’m freak’n out. I’m not sure why either. I’ve been blogging and selling coffee for a couple of years now, but this feels different. This feels special.
I feel like the very first thing that needs to be done is to explain the name. I have only told a few people what the name is and all of them looked at me like I was stupid, or I got the, “oh…that’s…nice…” I knew we would get a lot of that, and I think we are okay with it.
In the good ol’ days, there was a group of men that met regularly to discuss their unfinished works. Two of these men have had major impacts on us. Those are C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. The group they were apart of was called the Inklings. We have visions of creating a space where people can come together and have meaningful conversations without the polarization that we see in the world today. We see ourselves as a second edition, or a follow-up, to the Inklings and hope to honor their legacy.
As is standard for all introductions, it’s important to explain who we are. We have summed it up in the 4 C’s:
- Craft Beverages
- Community
- Culture
- Created Value
We will deep dive into those in future posts. All of these are going to be the driving topics of our podcast that we will be launching towards the end of July. If you would like a taste of what you can expect in the podcast, you can listen to our test recording. We did a trial run to learn how to record, edit, and export. It’s not perfect, but we aren’t perfect. We are unfinished and hope you will join us on the journey to keep getting better.
